Statement

I am studying a visual language and living in a new space of awareness.I often paint the birds in highly patterned backgrounds that represent the camouflaged backdrops of the birds habitats. The birds symbolize rebirth and death, flight and departure, home and nesting. Birds are sentinels of environmental destruction and climate change. They inspired our recognition of beauty in the world.

The bird pattern series is inspired by our current environmental crisis, the disappearance and essentialness of birds and taking focused time to look at the world around us.
